Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Waterbirds (AEWA)
The primary activities carried out under AEWA are listed in the AEWA Action Plan, which is legally binding for all nations that have joined the Agreement. The Plan specifies different measures to be undertaken by Contracting Parties to warrant the conservation of migratory water Birds within their national boundaries.
These include species and habitat Protection and the management of human activities and legal and emergency measures. Research and monitoring, education, awareness-raising and capacity building are also crucial tasks to implement the Agreement.
