Herkulu Tea Estate

An organic and fair trade tea estate and producer in the Western Usambara Mountains in the Lushoto District of Tanzania’s Tanga Region. The estate is spread over 603 Ha, of which the 230Ha is covered with tea at an elevation of 5000 ft above sea level – giving the tea a distinctly unique flavour. Herkulu is situated in one of the last rainforests of Africa and has a veritable assortment of giant tree ferns and other species. The Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Limited is the holding company that owns the estate.
